If you’re following my Instagram page then you know about my weekly series called Moody Mondays. The concept is simple: each week, I create a mood board for a follower who requests one. For the last two weeks, I’ve featured the space of a new homeowner who asked for help with her den that is currently serving two purposes. As you’ll see from the photos below the initial challenge was how to make this multi-purpose den both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Even before pulling furniture and decor for a mood board, I knew the window into the kitchen would pose a challenge for styling. As you’ll see below, I decided to recommend a furniture rearrangement. By flipping the dining and living areas it allowed for the TV to be centered on a less awkward wall. Plus, the new placement of the sofa helped to create separation between the two functions of the space.
Now that you have seen the space and the recommended furniture layout, here are the two mood boards showcasing sample design and decor for both the dining and living spaces! You can also find the links for all the products used to create these boards in case you’re looking to create similar looks in your home.
